Community Standards Courses

At the University of Utah, we want students' continued education to be successful and engaging, and we care about the safety and well-being of our campus community. With this in mind, the University of Utah requires all students to complete our Community Standards Courses once a year. These trainings cover a variety of essential topics including:

  • Sexual Assault Prevention
  • Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Prevention
  • Hazing and Intimidation Prevention

Students can access the training platform by clicking on the Community Standards Courses tile in CIS or navigating directly to Get Inclusive and logging in with their uNID and CIS password.

Mandatory Trainings

Incoming students will have a hold placed on their record that will only be removed when they complete Part 1 of this course.  If the course is not completed, this hold will prevent students from registering for a second semester.

Continuing students will be assigned additional training annually with an accompanying registration hold.

More information will be sent to students' Umail accounts when training is assigned.

Voices for Change

This training is mandatory for all incoming undergraduate students, and continuing undergraduates who completed Sexual Assault Prevention training more than one year ago.

With a focus on self-reflection and concept application, Voices for Change weaves bystander engagement and intervention throughout four topic areas

The curriculum grows with the student. Each year students will be asked to complete another training that builds upon the previous training while introducing new content.

Graduate Upstanders

This training is mandatory for all incoming graduate and professional students, and continuing graduates and professional students who completed Sexual Assault Prevention training more than one year ago.

Graduate Upstanders focuses on bystander intervention, consent & sexual violence content, with an emphasis on University of Utah definitions, policies, and resources.
